Shifter boot for Mgw shiflter

Hi guys just I just installed a Mgw shifter in my 01 z with a c6 knob.
Does anyone know where I can get a short shifter boot to fit a c5 that
Will accept the c6 knob?

RedlineGoods! I have the MGW also with a 1" shorter boot from RG. They will make you one at any length: http://www.redlinegoods.com/

I also have their e-brake boot, console cover, and e-brake handle (on the way). Very nice stuff.

I will be installing a MGW soon just waiting for warm up. Is it not possible to adjust or shorten stock boot...bring it in to a shoe maker and have him stich it to fit?

Where did you get that shift knob? Anymore pictures?

I have an MGW shifter with a C6 knob as well. I used the stock black C6 shifter boot. All I did was re-attach the shifter boot to my C5 boot ring.

You can find a variety of Delrin knobs on that ubiquitous auction site:

Looks amazing, clean and simple. Just ordered the same knob you have, my only question is: Did you have your boot custom made or did you just order the one that they have listed on their site?...And how do you get the neck of the boot to fit over the bottom of the knob and stay in place? any special modification needed or should it just slip over and stay in place?

I thank you for your compliments!
I bought the shifter boot (and e-brake handle and boot) from RedlineGoods. I shortened my MGW shifter about 3/4" so I ordered my boot 1" shorter than stock. Upon installation, I tucked the top of the boot inside itself, rolling the rest of the boot up a bit, kinda like an inverse turtleneck. Put the knob on and pull the neck of the boot up around it. I don't recall having to fasten the boot to the knob, but I may have put a couple of drops of clear silicone against the shifter shaft to hold the boot neck from slipping down.
Good luck with your install. :flag:
