good discount off MSRP?
I was surfing the GM buy power web site and found a 2011 3LT coupe with a MSRP of $59,660. Not too far from me, with the equipment I'm looking for. What do you think would be a good discount?

Wait till next month, when people can order the 2012, there should be some good incentives on the 2011
|
Check a little further North and see what Boardwalk Chevrolet in Redwood City has that may fit your needs. Prices were good enough I went up there from So. Cal to get mine.

AT least 10k.
|
12k to 14k
|
More like 9-10K, it would take a higher MSRP to get to some of the bigger numbers being tossed out.
|
18 to 20% discount...

$10,000 off that sticker price is nearly 17%. I doubt you will get more than that until the 2012 models have been out for 6 or more months.

Looks like the incentives are changing around may 3rd. Maybe they will improve. 0 % would be nice! I was also hoping the GM card would send me a "top off" deal on my points. |
Invoice would be a good price to pay.

You should be able to get $49.6K (17% off) + Tax, Tag, Title and any junk fee's they try and to pile on.
And 1.9% financing for 60 months. Then on top of that you can use your GM card points and any other rebates you can find. Auto shows like NY, Chicago, LA, etc... are usually good for $500. |
Incentives are good until May 2nd. Maybe up or down after that... it is a gamble.
Dealer cash of $3k- if the dealer will admit to it (some small ones won't). 1.9% for 60 months. Buy this weekend or run the risk....just how much of a gambler are you? 2011 Order books are now closed. Cyber grey out of production for a bit due to Japan, JSB just plain gone, normal black now gone for a year...you may find 'deals' on those unique colors no longer as readily available. GM is heading into summer months--Vette weather...with the lull in produciton during changeover..they may skip incentives for a month of so...so May 2nd...who knows????? At that MSRP you MAY be able to get about $9500 in realistic terms (from a non-forum seller)--if your local dealer is not aware of forum dealer pricing they will probably freak at that number. You can do a wee bit better--check Boardwalk's Inventory--just up the road a bit in Redwood City. Those above $10k off are a wee bit nuts or stumbled upon insane deals that you just are not going to find. Also check Jeff Hardy's site--before you walk over $1500 or whatever..know just how many cars like yours are available....depending upon color--your options to buy elsewhere may be more limited then you think. Due to an injury I had to buy an automatic GS, it had to be TR, it had to have dual mode exhaust and it had to have a 6 disc cd changer...know how many of those are around??? How many within 1000 miles of me....in short beggers cannot really be chosers...but with a 58.5k msrp I got $9400 off and was damn happy as going down the road to buy one elsewhere really didn't exist as I needed it now, no others existed within a 1000 miles of me, and I didn't have the time to custom order. |

QUOTE=Z06LUST;1577483597]Those numbers are out of fantasyland--sorry.[/QUOTE]
Well lets see what he gets off, he can try for it, they can counter, theres a lot of vettes out there, and thats not a fantasy, what is a fantasy is the MSRP and all the OT the factory is working, barely keeping up with the high demand,J/K and that is the sad truth(that the price has not adjusted to the times) |
I paid $11,811 under MSRP of $63980.....or an 18.46% discount. A volume dealer like kerbeck, Reliable Chevy or any of the other forum dealers can do this. Your local chevy dealer who may sell only a couple a month likely won't touch this kind of deal. Trade in could be another factor. I had none and put $33,500 down in cash.
Also that's a low option 3LT at that MSRP so the less options the less discount you will probably get even from a volume dealer but not by much. |
