Here's the an illustration of how the doors differ from regular vertical doors.

Really cool and like the different look:rock:

Interesting, but can you retain stock usage? For instance, tight spaces might make it impossible to get in where as a door that opens in a stock manner would allow access.

i usually think lambo doors are pretty ricey unless the car comes equipped with it from the factory. But those look pretty good!

I withdraw my prior complaint.

Thanks to the Vertical Doors Inc. guys for taking care of my problem. After my complaint on here, they contacted me via PM and had me come in and they swapped out the kit for me for free, and even cleaned up some of the body panel problems that the body shop didn't fix properly after my last insurance repair. Their technicians are pros - knowledgeable, timely and courteous. They've shown me they stand by their products and offer great customer service.

Yea, like to see someone getting in & out in our parking garage. Or in my garage for that matter. Might be ok for a show car, though not very practical for anything else imho.

Definately looks like it's a serious handicap for parking in normal places. Looks great for a show car, but you don't use them on normal drivers. I'll stick to my original plans for the regular verticle lambo hinges in the near future.

Thanks for posting it though.

I think I'd rather have a suicide door kit better. Those seem to take up alot of room just to open maybe a revese suicide lambo door kit who knows whats next that might be intersting.

Does it have some kind of sensor to prevent door dings?

Humy 05-12-2011 09:36 PM

when are motorized doors that go straight up with the key fob coming out: picture this... windows go down, stereo starts bumpin (window valet does this), and then both doors rise together and evenly... oh baby:rock:

I was over the whole vertical doors a long time ago. But this setup looks great! I am too interested to see if it can still open the factory way as well.

ArcticWhite 05-12-2011 10:37 PM

I think these look great and would love them on my car.

However, the window having to be down every time I open the door would kill me (and the window actuator/rails). And not everyone can run a window valet because they have OBDII gauges plugged into the OBDII port. Without a window valet it looks like there is no way to get into the car!

I'm not a fan of vertical door kits, but I will admit that one does look pretty decent.

VerTigo456 05-13-2011 01:26 AM

Is very nice looking but definitely nervous about parking...

Is it the same quality as past Vertical Door Inc kits? I currently have it on my C5 and is the most regrettable mod I've done. Not because of the looks but because of the poor quality. The hinges allow a lot of swaying of the doors in up position, and cause a lot of damage to door sills unless absolute careful attention is paid when closing the doors. Just my 2cents.

Please check your PM's sir. We would gladly replace the product for you. Sorry for the inconvenience :)

The doors no longer have standard functionality. We will be shooting some video of it in a standard parking lot (most likely the walmart down the street from us) to show you that there is enough room to open the doors safely
