Arizona Speed and Marine harness bar, carpet wear question
 

The harness bar sits on the carpet in the middle between the seats. I was told that this will press the carpet down, and may even wear a hole in the carpet. Is there anything that I can put that would keep this from happening?

I am going to put some extra carpet in that spot, but is there anything better?

Motoracer,
I have the same harness bar and have left it installed for about 6 months in the summer.
Only a slight pressing down of the carpet but no problem. Just brush the area with an old toothbrush and it will be like new.
There is no way the carpet should wear because the bar does not move. It just rests there.
