The new look to my engine bay! so long stainless and hello Torch Red and Carbon!
 

I got tired of the stainless look on my car last summer so I decided I wanted something different. So I picked me up a LS1 carbon engine cover, tweaked it with some paint and airbrushing added some hydro from Pat at Amercian Hydrocarbon in the cowl, air bridge and brake booster cover and tossed on some Torch Red tank and inner fender covers from RK Sport I painted. Got everything installed for a car show yesterday.
I am really liking the new look :D
I still have to paint the battery den cover I also have yet in Torch Red so I have the stainless one on still for a week or so:ack:

Whoa, that is nice. I am feeling the new look. I have never really been big on the chrome look in the engine bay. Seems dated to me but to each their own. I like the transformation.

yea i hear ya on the chrome.
at first i really liked all the stainless look but the stuff is so hard to keep clean:ack:
This setup I think with a couple more little things is going to be much cleaner looking and blend in with the rest of the car better.

Easily one of the best engine bays I've seen. As much as I liked your original looks, it was a bit on the busy side with the flame reflection from your hood liner. The new covers really clean up the lines.

I would love to see a picture of your new bay at this angle:

How are those inner fender covers held on? Just double sided tape I assume?

Looks great! I like the new look. I like chrome, however only is small amounts, like caps and support struts that help finish the look vs. overwhelm it. :cool:

I love the painted carbon engine cover! I really like the one WCC has but thought it was too much CF in one swath, the paint solves it :thumbs:

I am a firm believer in the K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid) theory. I think, in the long run, people appreciate the look. I know several Corvette (and motorcycle) owners who throw every piece of chrome they can purchase at their vehicles, and to me, it's very distracting.
