need help w/ reverse lockout solenoid

About a month ago my car started giving me trouble going into reverse, I did some research on the forums and it appeared the reverse lockout solenoid was probably the culprit. I checked my fuse beforehand and it was fine so I ordered a new reverse lockout solenoid from the dealer, after I replaced the solenoid (with directions from another member that had posted on the forum) my car will only go into 4th gear (it locks me out of all the other gears)
Now my question is could I have possebly replaced the 1-4th lockout solenoid? There's very limited space up there so I can't see much I took out the old solenoid by the feel of my hand. Is there 2 solenoids on the transmission (a reverse lockout solenoid and a 1-4th lockout solenoid)? Any help or a picture of the top of the trans would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Yes, both sensors are pretty close to each other so that is very possible. I'll see if I can find that post with the drivetrain pics in it so you have a visual.

Any luck on this issue... I got the same reverse problem on mine...

How much was the solenoid itself?

I'm locked out of 1,2,3,5,6. I still have reverse though.

NM fixed it

How did you fix this?

I got the new "Updated Solenoid" from GM and I am also locked out of 1,3,5,6, but reverse is working now...I put the old solenoid in and 1-6 works and reverse doesn't.

It's been a while since I bypassed the CAGS solenoid, but remember the reverse one was HIGHER up. And another important piece of informatiion is the reverse solenoid is normally CLOSED, meaning if it's not powered, you CANNOT engage reverse. You need to try shifting gears with the ignition ON, which should power the solenoid since the car won't be moving, and allow you to engage reverse, as well as all forward gears. Good luck.
