...was this originally a true '78 Silver Anniversary(Silver/Grey)car painted Red or because all '78s were Silver Anniversary, just didn't have the Silver Anniversary paint scheme???

...also, to clear things up, there was alot more than "200" 4spd cars made in '78. I've seen that number associated with 1978 L-82 4spd Pace Cars alone. I don't have my Black Book handy, but probably 15-20% of the total '78 production were 4 speed cars.

...anyways, very :cool: seeing a non Pace Car, non Silver Anniversary Paint 1978 Corvette for sale with a 4spd too!!!

Numbers say only 200+/- Red on Red 4speeds, but no way to know exact numbers.

1978 had 6502 Silver Aniv 40,274 Sport coupes 3,385 total 4 speeds.... As per Black Book

Incorrect. '78 had 6502 Pace Cars, not Silver Anniversary paint cars.

There were 46,776 total, 40,274 which were not Pace Cars. Silver Anniversary Paint cars totaled 15,283.

There is no way to obtain what you are looking for unless you order every 78 invoice @$50 x 40,274 and calculate the numbers yourself. GM did not keep any list of combinations.

As far as 4spds there were 8158 made- not 3385. The number 3385 is for close ratio 4spds and 4773 were wide ratio. Thus the 8158 total

There were 1221 78's that had red cloth seats.

All of these could have red exteriors or 1220 were white and only 1 made with red cloth interior and red exterior.

You do not have the original engine in there, so people will buy it because it is a 4spd, the colors & it's condition.

I probably wouldnt have noticed, but the "6502" number is commonly associated with the Pace Car.

To the seller, pretty color combination and stick. I really like the cloth seat inserts in red. Good luck with the sale. :thumbs:
