Will Rhino ramps work with a GS / Z06?

My GS is not lowered in the front.

Just wondering if Rhino ramps will work on the front, or are the 275 front tires too wide? Also, will the angle of the ramps work? If the angle is too steep on the Rhino ramps, could a 2" x 6" be used in front of the ramps to help get the front of the car up high enough to use with these ramps?

While your giving me your opinion, are the stock 325 tires too wide for use with the Rhino ramps on the rear of the GS?

Thank's a bunch ...
Ron,

The tire width is no problem. I use 2X12s as a pre-ramp for the front so the air damn doesn't get caught up. I drilled a hole in the front of each 2X12 and then slide a bolt through the 2X12 and into the hole on the Rhino Ramp to keep everything together.

Edit.....I actually have the Race Ramps.

Ramp incline comparison

The attached drawing shows how the incline angles for three models of Race Ramps compare to the 17 degree angle on Rhino Ramps (shown in gray). Each of the Race Ramps models shown is 14" wide.

My advice for you would be to get the RR-XT-2 with the extenders or just get the RLL-87-2

I tried ramps, and thought they were a PITA. I decided to stick with a jack and jack stands. Much better IMHO. :yesnod:

+1

I find my 67" XT-2's with extenders work great on my GS. I keep forgetting to buy the cribs for the rear... I need to work on my that.

I just bought a set of Rhino 1200 ramps at Autozone.

They sell both the 8000 and the 1200 version, but the 1200s are wider than the 8000, so they fit the wide rear tires of the GS better than the narrower 8000 (and only cost $10 more per set than the 8000).

I did need to use a couple of 1" x 12" boards to extend the ramps so they wouldn't hit the front splitter, but no problem with that.

And the $55, price is good too.

Is that what's shown in Uncle Meat's picture above?

And here's a tip for you cheap-azz Rhino-Ramp potential buyers... :D

Someone makes a 2-piece ramp that is the same size of Rhino Ramps. You can check them out here. I believe you can find them at Pep Boys.

What's that sort of peg you used? It looks like a long bolt with a sheath and nut.

If you have dimensions that would be great. the new rhino ramps have a hole built in so no need to drill into the ramps

BadAV 04-07-2018 10:39 PM

I have a set of the wide Rhino ramps. I use a couple of 10" wide, 1" thick plastic trim boards that I put at the front of the ramps when pulling the front of the car onto the ramps. My GS is stock height and the boards provide just enough clearance.

Ron,

I have the long ones. my GS goes up on them just fine.
(edit) mine are Race Ramps.

I made a set this weekend with info from the forum. Painted them blue. Going to use them this week. Just some 2 x 12 lumber. Brought my sizes to Home Depot, they did the cutting. I angled the wood for driving over it. 24 screws and all done. Too an hour.
