Steering Wheel

These may be silly questions but here goes:
1. What does the button that has a "1-6" on it do?
2. I have a 6 speen automatic paddle shift. How do I get the display to read out which gear Im in? I did it by accident once and cannot repeat it.

Cycle thru radio presets "1-6".

Actually cycles through presets 1-6 on FM1, 1-6 on FM2, AM and back around I believe.

Good question on #2, hope to hear the solution.

Not to hijack, but what is the 1>4 thing on the speedo mean/do (my owner's manual is in the car twenty feet away, I'm comfy at the 'puter w/a cold white russian (happy Saturday!) ?

Regarding the gears in paddle shift mode...

It displays in the HUD while you are paddle shifting. Mine does it all the time. I don't think it matters wether you are in street mode on the HUD or track mode.

When the tranny is in "S" mode and you're using the paddles, the gear you're in will appear in the HUD display if your car has the HUD. If no HUD, it will display in the DIC.

Skip shift indicator for telling you when you have to shift from first to fourth on a stick shift for smog control. Some people have disabled it with an aftermarket tune and others have inserted a skip shift eliminator (electrical plug at side of transmission) to make it ineffective.

Do you have Navi? When turn directions appear on the HUD the selected gear shows below on the DIC.

# 2. for paddle shift mode: Pull floor shifter all the way back to "S" then on paddles downshift. Once this is done the gear you are in will appear on the DIC. you can then cycle up or downshift through gears.

generally means it will skip from 1st to 4th gear if you get on it too much. Generally only used with standards and can be disengaged with a " skip shift eliminator", I think thats what you're talkinga bout?
