A lot of miles, not a Z51, no indication of tire condition......all reflected in price. Check it out, get service history and GM VIS report. Remember, the '05 manuals have the column lock that tends to malfunction, possible dead battery issue for which there was a software reflash, was that done to this car? If it checks out okay, might be a good buy. :)

DSOM is rare and a great color. |
ah...
At that price how can you go wrong?... it sold new for about $53,000+
It has all the options... F55 was money... Nav, HUD, it was the high end car in 05. 86,000 miles is nothing... jump... or someone else will get a great deal. PS... One can assume the car was "Fixed" as the owner drove it 86,000 miles... Seems to be ok. |
95% of used Corvettes I looked at were in worse condition than they appeared or were described in the ad.
From the info you provided I would say it looks pretty good. If you look at it and the condition is anything above 8/10, I say BUY IT NOW! |
It has a 165 degree thermostat in it, which means the owner doesn't know much about cars. Same type owner might have had it "tuned" as well, which often leads to premature engine damage. I would pay to have it gone over extensively before purchasing it.

Don't wait to long.. That's a good price for sure!
Heck there was an 05 Flood/Salvage car here for 23k not long ago-- |

86k miles, **** for $20k.. with they money you save you can throw a blower on it, destroy that engine and then start over at 0 with a forged motor! Seriously that price is ridiculous.
|
it's really 3 owners since one seems to be a wholesaler bringing it to NM. still, I'd thoroughly ck it out, as Rick and others have said. price is good, but you have zero warranty on anything now so whatever breaks it's all on your dime.
|
appears to be a decent deaL,,,,,,,,for me i would jump up on price and for around 30k you can get an almost new one (2008 maybe?? it seems like last years model for a base unit is around 40k ,,,,,,,,,,) but for 20k it sounds like a good deal tome????

4 owners... meh, pass.

Bottom line is thats alot of car for 20k. Even with four owners thats a deal. No accidents and clean title are what really matters. Seriously, when your friends are ogling your new Vette, do you think they are going to ask how many previous owners there were?
If its clean, buy it. |
Looks great for a weekend cruiser. Have a mechanic check it out and go for it.

Deal sucks.

Sounds like a good deal, I wouldn't sweat the miles. GM LS platform motors are pretty damn bulletproof. I've owned euro cars, Japanese cars and my 94 C4 vette and 99 Z28 were the most reliable cars I have owned in 28 yrs of driving. The Z28 now has 124,000 mi and still going strong on the stock 4l60e after many 1/4 mi passes. I bought that one at 55,000mi and it was a fleet car. As mentioned earlier, my only concern would be the first year gremlins on a new gen model.

Bad deal
|
Its not a bad price at all. Worn items (seats, mats, arm rests) can be replaced for not a lot.
However. You need to not spend your last dime on a car with 86k miles. Tires, brakes and other normal wear items can run into real money. Have a starter motor, window lifts etc. fail can be an ongoing drain. Have a trans fail and if you can't afford to fix it, the car will sit. While the drive train is very reliable, you're not buying a garage queen with 25k miles. |
dont do it.
