FS: Pioneer radio headunit 1.5 DIN perfect fit
 

Pioneer DEH-P77DH headunit - $100 shipped.

Very nice condition cosmetically, no signs of wear. Functions perfectly.

This is an older model headunit that was discontinued in the mid 2000's. At the time, it was a top of the line model for Pioneer. The main draw to using this headunit in a C4 or C5 is that it is a perfect fit for the GM 1.5DIN size opening. This was the last 1.5DIN headunit that Pioneer made. No custom bezel modifications or adapter plates needed. Being that it was "top of the line" in it's day, it also has some pretty decent features and very good sound quality. Highlights are:

• 45Wx4 power
• 4v pre-outs for amp with front, rear, and sub RCA outs
• Pioneer IP-BUS connector for XM-radio with headunit controls
• MP3 playback capability for music burned to disc
• Built-in "car-alarm" feature with starter cutoff
• Detachable faceplate
• Pre-installed mounts/brackets for direct C5 bolt-in!

Those are what I feel are the real benefits of this headunit. For a complete list of specs, just Google "DEH-P77DH" and read up.

This would be a good headunit for someone looking to upgrade from a factory headunit and get better sound quality and more playback options (XM, mp3) and a good look that is "period appropriate".

Selling only because I recently went "all-out". Gutted my interior, soundproofed, wired new speakers, 12" sub, amp, and custom 2DIN bezel with AVIC Z130BT headunit. It sure is nice, but holy crap was it a lot of work. If you are just looking for a simple bolt-in improvement to your stock sound system, this headunit I am selling is a very simple install and nice improvement.

Please note: I do not have the remote control. Selling just the headunit, faceplate, wiring harness, and attached brackets for perfect C5 mounting.

can I just mount it and use my 12 disc changer in the trunk and stock speaker system

Unfortunately there is no way to make the factory 12 disc changer work with any aftermarket headunit, so you would loose that functionality or go with an aftermarket RF adapter.

Yes, it will work with the stock speakers / Bose amp setup. As with any aftermarket headunit install that keeps the factory Bose setup, you will need one of these: CLICK

Would this replace a pontiac monsoon?

Yes, this headunit will fit and GM 1.5 DIN size opening.

Any system that uses a factory amp setup, like Bose or Monsoon, will require an adapter box like the one I referenced above in order to take an amplified signal from the headunit and translate it back down to a line-level signal to be sent to the factory amp for re-processing.

Any vehicle that just has plain old speakers and no factory amp will not require such an adapter box.

The OEM CD changer is made by Pioneer so it should work together.

It is true that the OEM changer is made by Pioneer, but it still does not work with any aftermarket headunit, including aftermarket Pioneer headunits. This is because the OEM changer utilizes the serial databus line for control of the changer cartridge from the OEM headunit. No aftermarket headunits have a serial databus interface to the car.

It will not work. Read up in the audio forum. No one has ever managed to do so.
