ZZ4 valve adjustment

what is the spec/procedure for adjusting the ZZ4 hydraulic roller lifters?

I'd do it hot and running with a cutout valve cover to shield the mess. You know the drill, back off until it clatters, back in until it doesn't and go in another half to three quarter turn.

At least that's how I would do it.

I did a search and found about a zillion different opinions. :willy:

Why are you having to adjust? Did you miss a shift?

Maybe just pull the covers and take half a turn on all the nuts. That will fix it!:leaving:

maybe...

i guess you and i are the only ZZ4 'experts' on here.

No need for an "expert"........... adjust like any other hydraulic lifter SBC.

Same roller lifters and rockers used on the 86-91 L98s and 92-96 LT1s. Probably get many people chiming in if you post in the C4 section.

thanks... probably, i just don't want to get too many forums going; hard enough to keep up with this one...

there seems to be many 'opinions' as to how many turns and whether they are just 'noisy' no matter how they are adjusted... :willy:

i figured with all the ZZ4s that people have stuffed in their C1/C2 that someone(s) would have the 'facts'.
