I have a '69 numbers matching base conv. It is registered in tn with a antique tag. Under tn law as long as the antique tag is in the car I can put a year of manufacture tag on the car. Found finally a 1969 tag in good enough shape to put on the car. It's a '69 Arzona tag. Looks great on the rear.:thumbs:

Hit the antique places. You will often find buckets and boxes of old auto tags. Keep looking until you find a 69 Tennessee tag - you might even find one for your county. Why have an Arizona plate on your Volunteer ride?

Go to web site LicensePlates.TV Click on US Plates then click on the state you are in. You can order a plate and you can have the county you live in and whe letters you want on the plate. Register it as a Historical Plate . It will cost the same as a antique plate and will be legal and a one time fee. Here in Mississippi I ordered one for my 69 Mustang. It is a brown plate with white letters just as it was back then. I had my county put on the plate and 1969 for what I wanted on the plate. Looks great. They charge $90.00 for the plate including shipping.

Registering in TN as an 'antique car' has some drawbacks. You are only supposed to use the car to attend (and return from) events for antique cars and/or for general maintenance. If you are just out "running around", you could be given a citation for not using it as intended by the BMV. I doubt that such would be a very common occurence; but, I didn't like the restrictions.

{Of course, my license fees are yearly...as is my 'specialty' plate...while yours is a one-time fee.}
