urge for a mid year

As much as I love my ZR-1, I have a real urge for a mid year vert. Only problem is I can't have both :cry What to do? Maybe it will pass....

I have wanted a midyear for nearly twenty years and I can tell you that the urge will not go away. If things get better for me I will have to get one soon!

I'm selling my C5 to get a mid-year.... well, trying to sell it. The hombre has yet to call me back.

It's a good itch to have.

The grass is always greener.I have a mid year Its alot of fun.(actually its more then fun) But its really not a comfortable or practicle car that you can take out to the movies,dinner,ect.ect.I almost sold my car this winter (what a jerk) to purchase a C5.I just picked up a C5 last night https://temp.corvetteforum.net/class...w2002vette.jpg.I would definatley find a freind with a Mid Year and ask if you could take the car for a long carefull ride and make sure you you will enjoy the switch

I know the feeling,Garry. I want a 58-60 but to get one,I might have to sell my ZR-1,too. Not sure I really want to go that far, yet. :D

That would be a hard decision. I have both a C2 and a C5. I would have a hard time deciding which one to part with.

I have a 67 coupe, small block, air, power steering, power brakes, etc. If necessary, I COULD use it for primary transportation. It is reasonably comfortable, reliable, and easy to drive. If it were a BB roadster, which is what everyone seems to salivate over, I doubt it would be a very useable car. I also have a 62 FI car, which I drive almost daily. However, I pick and choose when and where I'm going to drive it. I avoid heavy traffic and bad weather. The C5 (which is really my wife's car), sits in the garage gathering dust. But, again, if we go on a trip of any distance the C5 gets the nod. :D

....ANYBODY can own a c4 (yes, even a ZR-1, fine car)....sell the c4, buy a nice midyear and a honda....remember, you could be headed to the money pit - the c2 sure as hell ain't no c4

Each generation has it's unique charms but they're not practical commuters (although some will disagree) or grocery getters. Our ice-blue family truckster gets the mileage, driving kids to their sports events, doing all the mundane chores of life. The second car is a necessity if you have a family. The Vette is my escape from this reality.

If you wish to register the older Vettes as 'collector' status vehicles, you must have another, normally registered vehicle (at least you do here in Canajun land).

I think I will wait until I can have both :D I don't think I want to give up the driving habits of the "Z" just yet. I'll get a mid year someday! Thanks guys!

I sold my C5 to get my dream 63 silver splitty and i could not be happier. Ofcourse is not the same performance and you need to take better care of the car and enjoy working on it. But after owning almost every generation corvette C2's all the way. My old C5 was loved and enjoyed. :D https://publish.hometown.aol.com/ab7...mtbrand=AOL_US But my splitty is just sweet :D :smash:   http://members.aol.com/ab7c5/images/sting%20ray.jpg
