Semi-Flush Tails *pics*
Had some spare time this morning and some 1/2" spacers lying around, so decided to bring the tails out a bit. The OEM screws were just long enough, so that i did not have to buy new ones.
Not quite flush, but not fully recessed like stock either. When I get a chance I'm going to go to Lowes/HD to seal outter edge of the lights and get screw covers like NCSU SEE 5 did. I can take more pictures later if you all would like. What do you think? :D http://forums.corvetteforum.com/pict...ictureid=95205 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/pict...ictureid=95206 |
Im goin try that because I can wash mine, drive 10 miles and whole back end is black with exhaust smoke.

Looks interesting. I'd like to meet up with you sometime to check it out in person.

Yea, I'd bet he is talking about the taillights too. Looks pretty good that way - I'm not a real fan of the flush look.

looks great:thumbs:...I didnt ike the bug eyed look either. I bought the flush kit and didnt like the look... so I cut the spacers down about a 1/4" on each one.

 Looks good, I just recently "flush-mounted" mine.

So....Blue....I like that you've gone somewhere between flush and stock....looks good.
Bulletproof.....flush looks good there because you've blacked out AND distracted the eye with other mods. Nice job on both. So....for me.....I'm still pretty stock and feel blackout is unsafe (here in dark/rainy Oregon) and totally flush looks just ....well....bad. I would actually like to see how it looks to mount the lense deeper. But I don't think the OEM rear fascia allows for that. Major work to accomplish. I also rather like the look of the original lights over LED's .....one thing I wondered about was chrome/polished-stainless sleeves with a polished lip that would fill the space between fascia and red lense. Maybe too flashy but might be something different.....plus would reflect and amplify the light. Hmmm......:D |
looks good!

But you know what I mean....oh and the lights look great semi flush...take more pics when you put seal around them ok. |
Nice job, I like the flush look!

Maybe it's just me, but why bother if you're not going to make them completely flush. Not to say it doesn't look good. Just looks stock to me, which is the way I like it personally. JMO. :)

Thanks guys! Yep - not everybody's taste and looks stock to some people, but I like how subtle, yet noticeable it is to me.
Will take some more pictures once I get a chance to seal around the edges. |
Looks nice!

May I ask which flush mount kit you guys are using? I've seen a couple and I like the look. I just want to pick one that has been made well. Am I right in thinking these kits are just spacers, a seal, and sometimes new screws? What does the seal consist of? Is it just a gasket that lays up against the spacer? I think I'll get a smoked tail light set as well, since mine came painted.
