Sunoco 91 vs 93 (Talking PRICE)

I went to the local Sunoco station today, and they had 4 levels of gas

regaler was 87 cost $3.69

Next 89 octane $3.79

High test 91 octane $3.99

SUPER 93 octane $3.89 !!

I thought there was an error and went inside to ask, and was told they (Sunoco) had two tanks one with 87 and the other with 93 octane..

The manager told me they sell mostly 87 then some 89 then 91 but very little 93 octane ???

So in order to keep the tanks = or both the 87 & 93 needing a refill at the same time they lower the price on 93 just to sell more of it..

This is the first time in my life (I'm 69) I have ever seen this...

93 octane for less than 91.... I'm NOT complaining, but will be using Sunoco instead of Mobile even though I have a "Speed Pass" for Mobile.. & beside Mobile charges 10 cents more per gallon if I use the speed pass... Sunoco charges $3.89 for the 93 Cash or Credit!

I thought this was interesting, has anyone heard of this before ??

I think I have once before, John. Probably the same reason, too, in that 93 wasn't moving as fast as the other ones.

And a big plus is that they keep the 93 fresh by refilling the storage tank more often. It's not good to let ethanol laced gasoline sit to long as it will seperate(phase seperation) in the storage tank, giving your car fits if you get that crap.. http://fuelschool.blogspot.com/2009/...l-blended.html

Have not seen that pricing here at the Sunoco I use, sure wish they had the same problem. Nice deal as I do use 93 Octane.
