Spark plug/Wires recommendation
 

I am looking for good set of plugs and wires for daily driver 2007 corvette that may or may not get a supercharger thrown on it in the next 10,000 miles. They need to be readily purchasable from a local auto store or from summit, amazon, etc

No complaints with my MSD wires.

I'd go with NGK TR55 plugs and stock OEM replacement AC Delco or GM Performance Parts plug wires.
Once (if) the blower goes on though you might want to change plugs (NGK TR6?).

AC/Delco. You can obtain from a local Delco supplier or a GM dealer.

I put Magnacore wires on mine. The quality and fit is not as good as the AC/Delco OEM wires I took off.

100,000+ miles before I changed my wires out. They still looked new but changed them out just in case.

I'm running Taylor 10MM wires with AC Delco 41-104 plugs. My car is LS2 supercharged. The NGK plugs can cause intermittent "Service charging system" messages.

LOL ... If gapped properly NGK plugs do not cause service messages.. Lots of people run NGK with ZERO issues what so ever.

We offer the best deal on MSD plugs and wires anywhere as well as the ac-delco 41-110. There is also heat protection features available on our MSD wires like hi heat boots and 1200* sleeving as well as the cool sox for direct contact protection. MSD are great choice due to the features built into the wire, the heat resistance silicone, double crimp system and multi-angle feature are unique to MSD ( as far as I know) and combined with our handcrafting is guaranteed for life vs defects.:flag:

And some of us have had the issue. I'm sure many have had no problems and I will agree NGK makes a good product. Initially after the SC install I didn't have the SCS message and would have never thought the plugs would be the problem. I found several posts on here that swapping the plugs solved the issue to include this thread:

When I changed to the AC Delco plugs the problem went away. It would only happen at idle or at a very slow speed (5-10 mph). I had the TR6 plugs and still have them as spares. What gap do you use/recommend?

No compliants with the MSD plug wires with the boot heat shield. I would not worry about spark plugs right now. I am just guessing you will have a performance shop do the SC install. At the time of install, they will change your spark plugs then. It will require a different spark for the SC application over the original spark plug that came with car.

Honestly I think it was a different reason than the plug. We see people all the time not get the wire seated properly occasionally and it does the same thing.. OR maybe there was a hairline crack in the ceramic that went unnoticed or it was gapped incorrectly. IF there was a compatibility issue a lot more and I mean a lot more people would experience it. BUT they don't. I had someone try and say that you could only use gm wires or you will get a code and there was an actual BS GM service notice about it as well. ( if you search you will find that thread and my response in it as well :)) Hogwash is all it is. Is there was a real issue it would widely known at this point in time... we've ( people who mod and use MSD and NGK) been doing this since 2000.

:iagree: What I liked about these wires is that the boot can be formed to stay away from the exhaust if you have headers. The stock wire boots/shield were less than a 1/4 inch from the header pipe in some instances.

:iagree: I've been using the TR6 plugs with the MSD wires for about a year, never had an issue. I did buy the wires from 99blanccoss, great price. The plugs were installed by my SC installer.

I say we keep it civil and agree to disagree. My SCS problem is gone and the only change was the plugs.

It does not show on summit or the msd website which msd wires I get for the ls7. I have seen on here and amazon that the 32819 work. Figured I would post just incase before purchasing them. Thanks in advance for any help.

This is what I used for my 2005 daily driver (123k miles). I did this about a month or so ago. They are OEM replacement parts. IF you decide to go supercharger then just wait and get the appropriate plugs (which may require a different temp rating) and larger diameter wires, basically, whatever the tuner says is best to go with. If you remain stock then Delco stuff can't really be beat as far as cost/reliability.

Plug Wires - AC Delco Pro 9748RR - $26.30

I went with ACDelco 41-110's and Taylor 84044 wires. It's been 3 months using this setup and still very pleased.
