427 Convertible - Short Name?

Without a short name like a Z06, ZR1, or easily acronymable (I just made that word up) Grand Sport (GS), what do you guys think should be the short name for the new 427 Convertible?

I'm tired of writing 427 Convertible every time.

So far I can think of...

427C?
427V?
427Vert?

Any other ideas?

With what I have, I'm leaning towards 427V or 427Vert myself.

Quicksilver has (incorrectly) named it a Z06 convertible. :yesnod:

I say 427Vert. 427V sounds like a cool Cadillac.

GS427... would have had a nice ring to it, but it is not going to be a GS (technically it is) So, 427 Vert.

How about BDV for Big Dollar Vert...

That one's not bad. Altho not short.

I bet you'll see/hear people actually refer to it as GS427 and Z-06 vert in roughly equal amounts. Which given the incapacity of some to avoid some rank and yank debate on the models will drive many to pound there keyboards with fervor.

Hell, I predict we'll see several threads and intra-thread smackdowns just over the name of the damned thing. Some GS guys will want it to be a GS cuz of the LS7. Some won't cuz it has Z-06 fenders. And some Z-06 folks will have an absolute cow at the notion of a steel framed 3300 lb ragtop (gasp) being described as a Z-06. Oh, the horrors of it all.

How 'bout "Stingray"?

Not a fan of either GS427 or Z06Vert. Despite a good mix of components from both, it simply isn't either of those cars. No where does it say Z06 or GS on the car or from GM.

IMO, the car needs its own name, not riding the coat tails of another model, or some cryptic acronym (sorry BDV). It needs to be easily recognizable to quickly identify this model when discussing it among the community.

It just needs something related to 427 and Convertible.

How about GSV13? Grand Sport Vert 4+2+7=13

:iagree: short & sweet, and only one model year of production. All Corvette-folks will know what is being discussed...

How about fuel for the fire for the upcoming Base vs. GS vs. Z06 vs. ZR1 threads?

Now we have another contender in the rankings. :willy:

I heard that the 427 Vert is going to get it's own sub forum.
