C5 Corvette Destroyed in Long Island Accident

You might call it the battle of the GM cars, but in this case, there were no winners. A red C5 Corvette is now missing a few parts after colliding with a Cadillac on Long Island last Friday.

The female driver of the Corvette was briefly knocked unconscious by the collision and was taken to the hospital. We understand that both drivers will be okay, but that Corvette is fubar:

WICKEDFRC 02-15-2012 10:00 AM

Wow!!! I hope it isn't someone I know who drove a red C5.

Grim Reaper 02-15-2012 10:17 AM

Part out or repair? Hmmmmm. One of life's many decisions.

INTRUBL 02-15-2012 11:07 AM

Hope everyone is OK, was she a member of our forum?

ajg1915 02-15-2012 11:50 AM

First time I ever saw a hood completely ripped off. Glad they will be alright.

Vettmann17 02-15-2012 11:56 AM

I work close to where that happened and I didnt hear anything about it till now. Glad to hear all involved are OK. Glad to see the C5 is good at protecting the occupants, contrary to what a lot of folks think about Corvettes, they really are pretty safe cars.

AngryTurtle 02-15-2012 12:05 PM

Thatll buff out.

nah it's the purple caddy up in the yard beyond the white suv.

wonder what happened and how fast, looks like an awful lot of damage for a residential street.

:( not good

TorchRedRocket 02-15-2012 01:16 PM

HOLY CRAP! That had to have been quite the collision! It doesn't look like a road that would have higher than a 40 mph speed limit or so. Glad to hear that Vette did it's job of protecting the driver and that she will be ok.

VETJAZZ 02-15-2012 01:48 PM

Always makes me physically ill to see that stuff. :willy:
Glad no one was seriously hurt.

Oldvetter 02-15-2012 01:58 PM

Here is a picture of the other side, the brown Cadillac in the foreground is the other car in the crash.

I see 2 tires on the ground. A hit like that must have broke loose the
C5 spare from under the car

Hmmm, stock intake. No wonder she couldn't get out of the way fast enough. :toetap:
