Burnt Headlight Relay

1984 Corvette. Has been sitting idle for 10 years. Bringing it back! Need to get headlights working. The headlight relays and connectors are toast.
What are my options? I believe that the headlight motors need to be reworked. They probably caused this problem of overheating relays and connectors. I need some guidance.
Thanks,

You need the head light wire diagram. And look for problems also need new connectors

Can I upgrade to module and use the current three wired headlight motors?
Do I have to replace the motors also?

Thanks
John

Update I replaced the fired connectors, relay and actuator. The drivers side headlight opens and closes fine. The passenger only runs in one directions(probably the reason for the fried actuator). I have opened the motor the gears look fine, what else can I check? Why does the motor only run in one direction and not stop?

How were the bushings inside the gear of the passenger side headlight motor?

You mentioned 2 relays, but there are 3, LH, RH and Isolation. Did you test the 3rd one ?

The motor should stop when the limit switch is reached. Never had mine apart, but if you open it, there should be a limit switch at each end of travel.

I believe I gave you this once before, but here it is just in case.

:iagree: The isolation relay changes the polarity of the motor so it will run backwards when closing. The isolation relay is AC Delco p/n 15-2386 or GM p/n 10039961

I don't think that this motor/gears have bushings.

The passenger motor was swapped and plugged into the known good relay diver side with same results.

I will open the motor this evening.

Thanks for the tips.

Didn't really find any problems. After reassembly it was squirrelly worked at times and not at others. Dam_ Gremlins!

Will probably send out for rebuild.

Thanks
