Wife said it's time.... WTB ATLANTA

Looking for a car in the Atlanta area.

1. Does not have to be all original, actually I would prefer it not to be
2. Black, Gray, or Silver preferable...but if the car is in good condition I am open to any color...except for that milky yellowish color
3. Needs to be less than $9500
4.69-77 or 80-81

That's about it.

Jason

This is not in the Atlanta area, but it is not too far from you. It does not belong to me. I found it while browsing Craigslist and thought I would pass it along to you. It seems to meet your criteria and looks to be in descent condition although, I know it is hard to tell from photographs.

Glad to hear your back in the market. I haven't replaced "our" '81 yet, but still looking. Good Luck and keep us informed!

Brian!!! How goes it? I didn't know you were still hanging around these parts?

Did you finish the 944(or 924)?

What about the Ferrari did you find one?

Man I have to tell you...losing that car was one of the top saddest moments of my life...after losing loved ones...and dogs. I still look at pictures of it and just...*sigh*

Why don't you want a 78-79? Just wondering. We have a 79 and have always been happy with it. It was a basket case and 6 months of no TV, I had a driver.

Body style is all.

I don't like the rear bumper on 78-79. I like the molded front spoiler of the 80-81 and the rear bumper of the 80-81.

Made some good friends in the Corvette club while I had the '81. They still invite us to their gatherings, so I'm leaning toward getting another Vette one day. The pressure is on!

Yes, the 944 is more or less finished (projects tend to never have an ending). I drive it several days a week to work.

Pretty much have given up on that dream for now. All I can find are hundreds, if not thousands of miles away. It really is hard to justify the price of those cars, considering the age of the models I've looked over.

Yes, but you're still alive! Cars can be replaced.

Well hurry up and get another Vette and I'll get mine and we can meet up and take a cruise!

Haha I guess it kind of is!

Are you looking for an 81...or going for an earlier year this time?

I think I am trying to go for an earlier yr this time around.

Tally Ho 04-16-2012 09:20 PM

There are several 71-77 cars for sale in my area (FL panhandle). Depending where you are in ATL it's about a 5 hour drive south. Look at Craigslist under Okaloosa, Pensacola, and Panama City.

Dose11 04-16-2012 10:39 PM

Thanks for the heads up Tally, I'll take a look

Camivette 04-17-2012 10:44 AM

PM me If you find any you are interested in. I had been looking at all kinds around the area from Knoxville to Birmingham and South. I may be able to save you a trip.....some of the "immaculate" cars turned out to be not so. I did find a 78 for my wife and she's happy

I'm looking 80-82. Mostly 81-82 as i'm salvaging the x-member/TCI 700r4 from Fast81, OR just bolting into an 82 (that i would go 383) if i found one.

Dose11 04-17-2012 02:38 PM

In what condition? You managed to salvage a lot of parts from fast81 didn't you?

Fast81 04-18-2012 02:24 PM

not yet - still @ my parents awaiting my retreival..................

skilawyer 04-18-2012 02:50 PM

Too bad you dont like the 78. I have a silver anniversary i'd sell for $9500.
