Stupid Headlight Question ?
While my wife was out, I had her pick up 4 new Halogen bulbs for my 68.
So..... I have a pair of Sylvania H5001 And a pair of Sylvania H5006 Anyone know for sure which ones are high and which low?? -W |
Two bladed connector is high beam. Three bladed connector is low/high beam.

DUH!
I should have taken it apart or looked at the back of the bulbs 1st. -W (going full bore on it) |
you should read up on the wiring to make all the lights come on with the high beams it may be something you want to do.

That was my thought.... :)

Just installed a new front harness and when high beams come on, the low beams stay lit as well. I know in later model GM cars, the low beams turn off once high beams are activated.

Everything is good up there except one HB fiberoptic is very weak. Problem is not not in the headlight area or in the console - Oh well... -W |

Yes understood. That's how it's always been on a C3.

I read somewhere that the OEM bulbs had the silvering removed where the fiber optics terminate. This allowed the light to shine into the end of the FO cable. Can anyone confirm that?:yesnod:
The other 3 all work fine and I can shine a flashlight right at the offending optic eye and still no joy at the console. -W |
Has to be a break somewhere along the line. I have heard of people repairing the FO's with a splice but have not tried if myself.

And I'm NOT ripping apart the front harness to find it. :) -W |
