turning rubbing problem

Has anyone had any problems with a rubbing sound when making turns. everthing stock 08 Z51 with mich PS2. I have had the wheels off to look for rub marks thinking the wheel wells have shifted but cant find any is there anything with the steering that could be causing this problem

Thanks
Ron

are you sure it's actually rubbing or does it "sound" like rubbing?

That is very possible sounding like rubbing or grinding may have to take it to the dealer it has me concerned.

Change the differential fluid.
Mine sounded the same. I did some figure eights in a large parking lot with the windows down and the noise could be heard in the rear.

Sometimes the tires will "scrub" while making a tight turn at low speed, like in a parking lot.

New day, same car/tires/pavement; no scrubbing.

Rubbing noise

I have the same exact noise. When turning slowly like in a parking lot, I hear a rubbing noise but I have had the car up on a lift and checked each tire. No interferences. I still have the sound. It has to be the steering universal joint or the bearings are going bad in more than one wheel.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Could it be just the wide tires scrubbing as you make a fairly tight turn at low speed?

"it's not a bug, it's a feature!"

Big wide tires will do that at low speeds on sticky surfaces. Called scrubbing and it will sound like something is rubbing.

In the IT world, they are called "undocumented" features!

Had Same Noise With Low Speed Turns

This is likely just the crappy Goodyears. I replace mine at 4,000 miles with Firestone runflats and rubbing sound gone for good. (17,000 more miles and no rubbing sound)

According to the "2012 Quick Reference Guide, page 14":

DURING HARD, SLOW TURNS THE DIFFERENCE IN STEERING ANGLE OF THE TIRES MAY CAUSE ONE TIRE TO SLIDE OR HOP LIGHTLY TO KEEP UP WITH THE OTHER TIRE. THIS HOP OF THE WIDE TIRES MAY CAUSE A CHATTER SOUND.
