Does the car make the clutch noise when the pedal is depressed?
I would not think how a clutch could make a squeal noise, but the throw out bearing sure could. I also agree that some do make noise... Just asking. Mike |
Niiiice!

i got back from a mini vacay, i responded to a couple pms, my inbox was full, so if you didnt get one back please resend. to answer svoshop, the clutch doesnt make noise when depressed, the squeel might happen randomly as you engage it in first gear. its not a terrible thing, i just wanted to be straight foward, once in awhile (for some reason rain/humid days, idk) it catches you off guard, thats all. i drove it all weekend and it didnt do it once. thanks

Forum people, I've met Mike here in CT, good guy to deal with; Mike is no stranger to owning and buying well kept C5/6's in the past few years
To duplicate this build it would cost over $10k, I was not involved in the modification of this 2004 Z06, just stating the cost. Regarding the clutch; Andy@AAcorvettes sells/installs the ACT product, may be good to give him a quick call and verify if the the noise is actually friction material vs. Flywheel and may be 'normal' with the specific clutch(I've only installed a few ACT singles in the past few years) Most is not all dual disc clutches will exhibit a 'non stock' noise |

Nice vette, also had an 01 z a&a, could never drive another vette without their kits!
As far as the act twin disk, I never had any squeel in my kit only if the clutch was slipped would they make any kind of noise breifly, was the pressure plate shimmed correctly or need to be reshimmed? |
