1977 tach trouble
so i did what 95% of websites said and replaced the circuit board behind my tach to get it working, the old one did have a black spot on it so i thought i would be good, i put everything back to gether as per required and still nothing, before the tach would stay at 1k and move up to 1500 under full power, now nothing, it just hangs out at 0. any other troubleshooting ideas would be greatful

did you check h the wiring coming off the dist. and also the tac filter by the dist.?
|
yes, i tried bypassing the filter and still no joy

Where did you get the board? If it is the imported board you may have left out the three red washers...
If not.. then go to the connector on the board.. and check the terminals for power and ground. Then test continuity from the signal connector to the distributor connector with the filter disconnected. Does the tach do anything when you turn on the key? There is tons of tach info on my sight and if you do a search here you'll find tons more.
