C4 suspension points during winter storage
For those of you that like to get your C4 off the tires during winter storage, plus doing a little underbody detailing, where is the best place to put the rear jack stands so that the suspension does not hang down. That tends to extend the shocks too far.

Having the suspension hanging by the extended shocks won't hurt anything. They are built to support the weight. My car lives on jackstands. :yesnod:

I'm not so sure about that. My car was up on stands for several weeks once for service, and it took about a month for it to set back down to normal ride height. I don't know if it was the springs or the shocks that was the reason, but it looked "jacked up" for a while till it finally settled down again. If I ever have to stand it up again for a long period of time, I'm going to place wood blocks under the front spring ends to let them hold some of the load.

You might be right. My car looks jacked after I let it down, especially in the front.

If your worried about the suspension hanging, take off the wheels. It's also the best time to detail them.
