spark plug gapping qusetion?
 
i need to know the gap needed for ngk tr 55 spark plugs. thanks in advance.

The factory manual spec is .060". I gapped mine at .057"


Edit: Tightening torque is 11 lb.ft.

I did the same thing at .058 ...

Please clue me in. Why would you use a smaller than recommeded gap?

I have installed two sets of these plugs in two different cars. All of the plugs out of the box were at 0.057. I upped them to the specificed 0.060. In the end, I don't think the 0.003 will make any difference. You may want to just check them as they come out of the box to make sure you don't have a out of tolerance gap and then just install as delivered.

I gapped at .055 with no problems.
