More than conjecture ?

Can anyone post what they know as fact about the C7 from photos , specs , performance and anything inbetween that is is factualy known .

ZeeOSix 12-11-2012 08:02 PM

Every tid-bit in this forum is about as "factual" as you're gonna find at this time ... until the formal and official unveiling on 1-1-13 by GM.

Jinx 12-11-2012 08:05 PM

C7 will debut at NAIAS (or the NCM event just before that if you want to get technical). That's really the only fact you need right now.

What you/we/I know collectively is depedent upon who you subscribe to. The following information camps are as follows:
1) Japolink
2) Mr Keeks
3) Car Mags: Car & Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend
4) A bunch of spy pics from asorted websites .

The Only definitive source is One Thirteen Thirteen.

Everything else is somewhere between vetch and vetchnachi ...

Don't forget that the LT1 is a certainty. Its power numbers are not, but we know what technology is inside of it and that it is going into the C7.

Sidepiper 12-11-2012 08:23 PM

2 door, no back seat, flip up headlights.

Start/stop, AWD and optional rocket boost.

User 2623 12-11-2012 08:45 PM

We do know that the new vette will have wrap around tail lights .......>
O'hh is that some more conjecture?

BuddhaZ06 12-11-2012 08:54 PM

Lt1-450+HP/tq
8speed auto/7speed manual
Split 5 spoke wheel option. Prolly a plain 5 spoke too

meadowz06 12-11-2012 08:55 PM

Here are some facts:
LT1 engine with direct injection. Cylinder deactivation.
2 seats
7 speed manual, 8 speed auto
Seats made by Johnson controls
Targa one piece removable roof
More use of carbon fiber for body panels

BeaZt 12-11-2012 09:49 PM

It will definitely have four wheels

and Jalopnik rhymes with Yankopnik
and Car And Driver = CAD
and Road and Track = Really True
and Motor Trend = Mostly True
and ... oh well, I'm out

Yep - tungsten on the base car and platinum on performance models

avacorvette 12-14-2012 09:31 AM

It will have a Kanuetter Valves and High Performance Muffler Bearings.

Tonylmiller 12-14-2012 09:37 AM

I think the muffler bearings are ceramic to deal with high temperature environments. :D

Since the car will have shallow water crossing abilities, it will come with a supply of water line.

Oof. Talk about bringing up bad memories. My advice to the crowd out there... Don't install a bottom-feeding ram air intake and then drive through pooled water. That was an EXPENSIVE mistake.

(Before the more intense name-calling starts, it was unavoidable. A descending, curving highway onramp with cars close behind me accelerating to freeway speeds. You couldn't see the pool until you rounded the bend and I couldn't jam on the brakes for fear of rear-ending.)
