Aston Martin guy comment people are funny
 

Parked next to a 2006 black Aston DB9 at the gym. Guy comes up and we start talkin cars. I complement his DB9. He tells me he has owned several Vette's. like's the wide body and if he owned mine he would put black wheels on it, etc. etc. why do some people think that others really want to know how you would change someone else's ride? I've owned a 2008 Aston Martin and other high $$$ cars. But I would never tell some else how I would mod their car.

Its just conversation, I doubt he meant anything by it. Honestly, I like when people give me ideas like that. I have one of those analytical minds, and creativeness isnt really part of the process. Look at it this way, he could have been a total A hole and not said hello. Sometimes its just that people run out of things to say and dont know when to be queit, or wish you well and be on their way. I wouldnt be offended at all.

Black wheels are hot on the right color car IMO. I agree with flange, he was probably offering what he thought was a constructive comment and meant no harm.

The Aston Martin guy had excellent taste in cars but none at all in wheels.

The Aston Martin's and their sister car the Jaguar XK are silky smooth to drive and very different feel than the vette. I actually have been looking for a nice used Jag XK convert to use as my daily driver along with my vette convert.

I think the number favoring chrome over black is far different than one to one. In the 2012 model year vettes ordered with chrome wheels outsold black by about 50 with chrome to one with black wheels.

The 2012 model year had the best year ever for the number of vette's ordered with black wheels and it amounted to just over 1% of the total sales, chrome wheels accounted for around 53% of all vettes sold in the 2012model year which means chrome outsold all other wheel finishes combined.
