is the blendmount the only decent detector mount?

it looks nice, but $130? Think I'll stick with suction cups.
Last c6 had the great lakes and it was less than fantastic, voztech looks like they don't exist any more, is there anyone I'm missing?

One word ................ Yes !

Tide Will Roll! 01-06-2013 09:02 PM

I may end up getting a blendmount, right now mines mounted up high to the right of rearview just below the XM box, using the suction cups and a smartwire. Its a Beltronics Pro RX-65, in stealth mode.

My biggest concern with the Blendmount is, if I am stopped with the Blendmount....the RD will be the first thing a cop sees when he walks up to the car. At that point, not much chance of him just giving a warning.

yeah, I don't know, I think either way stopped in a vette=ticket.

the blendmount looks nice but I'm just not feeling the money they're asking for them.

I got a custom one that a forum member made and it mounts under the driver visor out of sight when I park vs the blendmount:rock:

It is expensive, but so is your Vette. I love it and also have one in my 125K Corolla DD. Buy it and you will love how good it looks...

I bought one from one of the forum vendors that sticks to the back of the mirror and I use an invisicord. Had it on two different C6's works great and wasn't expensive under $40. Will try to find link.

that's the great lakes, it's OK I had one on another c6 but I don't think it'll work with the onstar mirror?

<<Non Supporting Vendor Link Removed >>

edit: pages says it does work, I guess I'll get another of those, I had missed it the first time through the page, but it only says that for the escort not the v1 so I'll have to email them

It's the only one that matters. Best there is

I'm using a Beltronics 995( I think) works on my onstar mirror, actually seems to work better than it did on my non onstar mirror.

Got one for the new avalanche and it's great and steady. Wife's Solstice keeps dropping her suction cups and she asked for one from Santa, who obliged. Probably gonna order one for vette soon.

Not as far as I am concerned...here's mine. I like the location much better. I have my Redline on it now...the pics show my 8500 X50.

Great lakes and invisicord. blend mount looks cool, but I don't see what else it gives you.

gcope63 01-07-2013 12:31 AM

I have a Valentine 1 and I just use the standard suction cups up tight on the drivers side next to the mirror. It out of the way but has sight line on both front and back.. I like this better than having it under the mirror since it is less obvious from outside and I didn't want to spend that much on something I already had...

my 0.02 ....

$130 is cheap compared to the setup I want, lol. I want to do the escort, with laser jammers, with the custom install option. All you see is 2 little lights that light up on the dash. I think its $1500 installed, but they do have a payment plan.

The suction cups have failed too many times (esp in the summer time).

The Blendmount is a great solution.

SubjectAlpha 01-07-2013 09:18 AM

I like the Blendmount because it makes the RD look like part of the car. I sometimes leave the top down on my vert when I go into a store. If it were on suction cups I'd have to stow the RD and/or put the top up every time. With the Blendmount most people won't notice it and even fewer would know how to remove it.

The Great Lakes mount hangs on the mirror which introduces mirror shake - if not immediately then eventually. The way the Blendmount attaches actually further stabilizes the mirror on the windshield. It's not only a great looking setup but an extremely well engineered one that should last for the life of the car.
