GT500 has 662bhp for 54K, C7 450bhp for 60K?
Am i missing something here? I get the Vette will run circles around the Stang on a track, but line up the side view mirrors on a highway and the Stang will run away from the C7.
Given both Dodge and Chevy had no clue Ford would screw both them over with the bang-for-buck in the Shelby, but the bar was raised, and Chevy didn't really show us anything that was WOW with regards to power. Funny how LOW 450bhp sounds now isn't it? |

They aren't really competitors.

And the shelby is unibody with no real frame and not even close to as balanced  |

different car - go buy a shelby.
You'd be driving a C7 beater but you're still in a Mustang. |

Good luck finding a 13 GT500 for $54,000. Properly built (to get the power to the ground) you need the performance and brake packages...in reality the MSRP is a bit above $64,000.
|
So what? If horsepower and price are your only criteria by an old muscle car for under $10k and mod it to 700 or so HP for less than both cars.
|
you fail to mention the weight........it needs those extra horses, I had one, I know
|
And no real hp/tq numbers yet. I think slightly higher than 450. I dont think the gt500 will kill the new vette, maybe beat it a slight margin in a straight away but not kill it. Then wait a year for our SC to come out and see where the gt500 is. You got to remember its all a cycle that changes winners every couple yrs.
Also our new interior is way cooler looking IMO. I also think, since they said faster than the GS that we may be looking at a 0 60 in 3.7 secs which is just .2 off the gt500 MSRP for the Stingray will be 55K And gt500 is selling over MSRP. |
Comparing a Mustang to a Corvette?
Your at the wrong forum, you can have a mustang with a thousand hp and its still not a vette, never will be. |

Yep, you are a Mustang kind of person. See ya later
|
The new gt500 is an animal. I lol'd at chevys attempt to "dethrone" it with the zl1. I'm more interested in the new 2015 mustang in the works. Supposedly its going to turn into a vette like car. Will be interesting to see where the hp levels go when that hits the streets.
