The C6 already looks dated!
I was just on another site configuring a C6 the way I would like but I quit within a few seconds because the C7 makes the C6 looks so dated I became bored. This never happened to me before. Can't wait to see the C7 in person. This blows the C6 and the new Dodge Viper out of the water. This is the best looking Corvette ever. No way this will not be a hit.

I agree. The rear end of the C6 looks just like a Malibu.
;) |
mmmm not so sure I agree... throw a set of nice wheels on a C6 and lower it.. does not look dated to me really.. the C7 just is brand new and looks quite a bit different so natural reaction I think
|
I felt the same way.. suddenly it looks dated (not bad, just dated)...
|
The C6 is a 9 year old design. I agree.
|
I was listening to the suspension engineer and he said we could lower the car one inch by readjusting the travel bolts. Just an FYI..
|
It may be an older design, but I prefer the look of the c6. The wide body that is.
|
Still a solid looking car in wide body form IMO.
|
While the base C6 does look a bit outdated, the wide body GS/Z06/ZR1 dosen't. The aggressive appearance of the widebody C6 is found in the C7. While there is no "wide body" C7 (because there is no "skinny body") the C7 is wider the the base C6 by 1.3" and has flared fenders like the wide body C6(just not flared as much).
The C7 is longer, wider and lower then the base C6, just as the GS/Z06/ZR1 is longer, wider and lower then the base C6. |

Do you even own a C6?? I still catch myself looking at the C5 and saying, wow, that's a sharp car". I good design is timeless. I feel the widebody C6s, which are 2 inches wider than the new C7, is a better design with less gimmicks. Gimmicks don't stand the test of time.
irst - The jury is still out on the headlamps. I like the idea of the advanced lighting system, but, at least initially, I didn't like the prospect of not having flip-up lights. This really has less to do with the heritage perspective, but more the clean lines the previous models display with the lamps hidden. I love the look of my '02 with the lamps closed - like it's waiting to pounce. All-in-all, though, a pretty decent design, with the little ribs contained therein to break up the look. I would like to see the inside of the lamp painted flat black on the red car, might be more menacing. 2nd - Touch open doors? I appreciate the idea - no lock cylinders, etc, but was this a problem in previous models? I'm fully capable of pulling up or down or even sideways to open my door. Could this be Dave Hill using money in the budget earmarked for the headlamp motors? Me no likey. IIIrd - From a direct view at the back of the car it looks brilliant. Smooth curves and crisp edges meet to create a very dramatic flow to the vehicle overall. But (you knew there was going to be a but) from a vantage point just forward of the rear, take a good look at the back end and... ugh! The rear end goes every-whichy-way. Where the C5 starts at the bottom and swoops up to the deck lid in one motion, the C6 rear end is all over the place. Overly sculpted and pushed and pulled in too many directions. This may take some getting used to, assuming it ever happens. I do like the packaging of the reverse-lights and chrome tips separated below the license plate mount - looks like it should be that way. Fourth - The small black aero-winglet-middle-brake-light-holder: This has to go. Third party manufacturers will have a field day with this. Completely breaks up what is already a poorly designed butt, in my ever-so-humble opinion. |

Yup. I've seen Ferrari GTO. Have you seen any new Ferraris that look like the GTO? Nope. That's for a reason.
