what brand of rim came with a 61 big brake car i have two 5 1/2" rims less the humps ,they came on my 61 , only the two rears ,I have since replaced them with the 5 " proper rims .also who has used the wider rims on front .I am thinking of a front brake upgrade to disk and reusing the wide rims, I know i would need different front rims for clearance of calipers . would a 65 5 1/2 " rim work on the 61 up front and clear caliper .

The 65-6 and later rims will clear the caliper - the 57-62 big brake rims
will not. Start trying to identify your '61 wheels by determining if they are riveted or welded. BB wheels are riveted.

MAYBE, if you use the sliding calipers rather than the c2/c3 fixed calipers you might be able to use regular rims.
