Which "used" Inferno Orange Grand Sport should I buy?? Two choices here.. 3LT or 4LT

I continue my quest to return to the "C6 fold"....so I continue to ask advice.

***Before someone jumps in an says "yea, well for only a couple thousand $$ more you can buy a new one.." I am at my limit $$-wise. I want Inferno Orange, they are RARE, I want a manual tranny, and NPP exhaust, and 3LT or 4LT. New ones either don't exist, or they are hiding..:D

So...

Two cars, both Inferno Orange, both M6, both silver wheels, both USED GM-Certified, 2012 models, both one-owner, both have clean Carfax, both have ebony interior..both cars are WAY out of town, and both are at Chevrolet dealers.

Car ONE...3LT, NPP, Nav, black fender badging, plain headrests, 146 miles (!) $52,000

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps24c91ff4.jpg

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...psfd198c18.jpg

Car TWO...4LT, NPP, Nav, clear roof, F55, embroidered headrests, 19,000 miles $51,500 (will need tires soon)

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps2544afc9.jpg

http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps02851355.jpg

So...assuming I can get either car at about the same price, is the F55 and 4LT worth buying a car with the extra miles (19,000 miles vs 146 miles)

FYI...
Car One is being sold as "used" because it was titled by the dealer, and driven as a titled car, so it must be considered "used"....thats the story from the dealer..

Car Two is being sold by the local Chevy dealer under consignment by the original owner. It looks to be pristine, with no signs of road rash, wheel rash, etc...currently in storage.

Thanks for any advice...

I vote 4lt....mileage is still pretty low.

3LT as it is newest and you will not need to put 2k in tires tomorrow.

:iagree:

the MSRC (F55) is a very nice feature...good to have tour/sport flexibility IMO.

But, 19K less miles on the other car, for the same price, makes it a difficult decision.

Maybe the dealer will put new tires on the car with 19K miles. Suggest not getting
another set of the GYs, b-t-w...(go for Michelin PS2 ZPs).

Okay, dumb question here, sorry, please don't hate. What's the difference between 3LT and 4LT and what is F55?

:toetap:

Having the more optioned car will have a better resale value. I have the F55 option and love the compliant ride and the ability adjust when I cruise the mountain roads. I would price out the tires and make an offer accordingly. On the other hand having a basically new car with its new car smell is pretty hard to beat. Drive both witch ever one feels better should be your choice. Good luck.

F55 is the Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension (standard on ZR1; Z06 w/Z07 package; 427 'vert;
optional on all other models)

4LT has leather-wrapped dash & door panels etc (highest interior trim level)

They are both over 2000 miles away:ack:

^ you might use up those old tires on the trip home !!

Go for the car with the body colored roof. Tell ya why: you can always pick up the clear tinted roof from a vendor to this forum shipped to you for under $1K. Then you have 2 roofs that you can change out according to the season, your mood or your needs. Unless you're extremely lucky, it will be difficult to find and match an inferno orange roof and a lot more expensive than $1K as well.

I really like the orange roof. Not too fond of the clear one, had it on my '07 C6... Dealer can provide one for $698.. I already asked..

edit***FYI, the dealer "misquoted" the price...actual price is $990 unpainted, another $700-$1000 to paint***

my choice 4lt

well, i checked to see how they compare on KBB now with the differences you stated. difference in price matches pretty close (4lt $400 more than 3lt).

then i put in 2010 with the 3lt at 6,000 miles and 4lt at 25,000. to see what change 2 years and 6k would do. well, price between 3lt and 4lt closed by $200 (4lt $200 more then 3lt)

price difference isnt exact, the point is to see what happens to price in 2 years and if you added 6k miles to what they have now. they are getting closer in price is the result, but not much.

1) f55 isnt a deal breaker, i feel no difference with it on or off, i wouldnt miss it.
2) the clear top is nice, but honestly we have both and we prefer the solid one.
3) the tires will cost you but then again, i couldnt stand the noise and hard ride on stock tires , replaced them with Nitto Invo. So 19k with worn tires, no problem, replace them with non-run flat.
4) 19k mileage. resell in 2 years , you'll lose $200 for the extra 19k mileage. no deal breaker

Thank you very much Gary. I've always wanted to ask. :)

n p at all !

I would go. With car #1. Has everything you want and keeps a little bit of money in your pocket. I have also read several people with the 4LT have problems with the leather wrapped dashes bubbling. Do a search there are some photos out there. Just not worth the extra cash IMO

I'm going with car #1 too.

MakoShark72 02-12-2013 12:18 AM

Thanks for everyone giving their thoughts.

I am leaning towards #1...brand new, new tires (saves me $1500+), solid roof (saves me $700).. Will do some negotiating tomorrow..

Cyber Greg 02-12-2013 12:22 AM

4LT and F55 for sure!!!
