New Grand Sport 1st wax

Just picked up a new CG Gs this past week.My question is I have always used Rejex on my C5 and was always completely satisified with the shine a duability .Does the factory put any wax or polish on the paint when it leaves the factory? My plan was to wash with dawn dish soap and then give it a couple coats of Rejex
Coments or opinions welcome Thanks

Congrats on the new GS! When I first got my mine, I washed with a good quality car wash detergent (Wolfgang Auto Bathe in my case - lots of good choices available), then applied sealant/wax. Dawn is probably unnecessary and a bit of over-kill, as the factory doesn't apply anything to the paint that needs to be "stripped".

id hit it for sure with a mild paint cleaner...there will always be some sort of contamination on the paint...then after the paint cleaner, the paint is ready to accept any sealant or wax you decide...

Thanks for the reply Come to think of it the dealer had the car for almost 7 months. It was in the showroom for about 5months until they started their remodel...Then was outside although they did put it inside a night.

yeah then id treat it to a paint cleaner for sure...

Sonax has a good one as well as Klasse AIO or Duragloss...any of these will give you excellent results..

you may have to clay first..try the baggie test...if its ok, maybe consider an Iron X or TRIX treatment before the paint cleaner...

A paint cleanser is a nice bet, and likely nothing more than a wet towel has been used on floor models over its stay at the dealer. Get some Rejex on there and make sure to protect that GS.

If you want to go the full route ... Wash, clay, polish, and protect.

definitely do the whole route
