C7 or Fisker?

Has anyone else noticed the close similarity of the front end of the C7 and a Fisker?

AORoads 04-08-2013 08:02 PM

Maybe, but let's hope that's where any similarity ends since Fisker is on the verge of bankruptcy after taking hundreds of millions of US dollars. Of course if Corvette decides to go the route of Fisker all it has to do is follow some of the more -costly "ideas" generated by misguided persons.:D

Maybe I need to do as my wife has been telling for about a year now, and that is to get my eyes checked, because I sure don't see it.

Zymurgy 04-08-2013 09:03 PM

I wouldn't call it close:

Someone made the same remark to me. I initially dismissed it immediately. But on second look I realized that the big fenders and the pronounced creases on the hood were the cause for this impression. And the person confirmed that it was indeed the reason.

These days, many cars have some similar design cues to others across brands and cause people to be "reminded" of other cars.

Convergent evolution.

A few months back I saw one of these in NY City. I had to look it up on the Internet. Actually, a very striking Car in person. :yesnod: I mean for a non-sports Car.

Well, with 80% of their employees laid of this week, Fisker is over for now. Let's see if they can come back from bankruptcy.

Sin City 04-09-2013 12:58 AM

Fisker looks a like like a Maserati Granturismo with a handlebar mustache. :)

Trackaholic 04-09-2013 03:10 AM

Whever I see a Fisker all I can think of is "V for Vendetta" and that Guy Fawkes mustache.

Shame about Fisker. They had real potential but just had a terrible run of bad luck.

Not really. The concept was wrong. The idea was to make an expensive and stylish electric and people would flock to it. But, as a car, it just doesn't add up well. It's too heavy, the performance is underwhelming from the look the slick exterior, the battery technology they embraced was not a good choice (and their supplier went bankrupt), the electronic touch screen interface systems were literally a joke, the car sounded awful with the gas motor running, and the build quality of the initial pre-production cars was horrible (I know several people who cancelled after a test drive).

Bad luck? Well, some cars did burn up in the storm but Fisker's problems were well underway before that.

Does the C7 look like the Fisker? Well, perhaps. If you saw them while keeping your eyes closed in a dark room.

Bad luck, shiddy product, tomato, tomahto.
