Non-vette but rare
Saw this in a parking lot the other day. It's a Lincoln Blackwood. Only sold about 3400 of these in 2002-03.

Ford tried that twice... the second one was called the Mark-LT. Being that either one was simply a pimped out F-150, and the Lincoln demographic probably includes almost zero pickup truck afficionados; both failed shortly after introduction.

wow that is cool...Nice find... thanks for the picture
. Lincoln Oh yeah the Cadillac of fords awesome....:woohoo: |
Rare isn't exactly what I would call it, in automotive terms "rare" infers that the vehicle is desirable or extraordinary.
By this description a Yugo would also be rare. |
Rare could also mean not well done. This would qualify even though it's toast!

I actually liked the Blackwoods, but they tried to make it too luxurious. The bed is really made out of wood, and the sides are all upholstered and lined with stainless and wood and stuff. So it's basically useless as a truck bed. They then overcompensated for the Mark LT and made an F150 with a new grille and some new badges.
I have to admit GM hit it right with the Escalade EXT. Not quite and SUV, and not quite a pickup. Just a very good mix of both. |
Dats racist
In fact, I think they got bad flack on the name so they dropped it. |
ROFL! I remember in college, one of my friends said that Ford was marketing this towards Black people. I am Black and remember saying "wtf?"

I don't think they dropped it because it had the word black in it; they dropped it because it was an overpriced POS that they couldn't give away!
