Shorty Headers

Hello All,
I am looking to purchase and install shorty headers for my C5 (2002).

I will be replacing my long tubes because they burned my wires many times for which i had to buy many new sets (and not to mention that the wires have those boot and wire protection). Also, these long tubes headers have burned my air conditioner and was told that i will need to custom make a new one.

So my question is which shorty headers works best (BBK, JBA, OBX)? And do you think i will still have problems with burning my wires on these shorty headers? I do know the stock a/c line can be replaced without any issues.

Thank you!

something is not correct, there are a lot of people with LT Headers and no burning up of wires, etc.

I think I would just find and fix my configuration problem.

You will get a ton of post that will tell you shorty headers are useless because there is little real difference over the stock manifold.

I would agree the cheapest way out would be to find and fix the install issue.

what kind of headers are they?

I do have a set of shortees in my shop that I would likely trade you out for those pesky long tubes:thumbs::thumbs:

Sad thing is that I don't know what brand are they

I'll agree that if the long tube headers are designed right, then you shouldn't be having the problems you are having. There are numerous people here on the forum running LT headers and have not reported any problems like that.

However, if you want shorty headers, I have heard that B&B makes a very good set for the C5.

Ceramic coating cools the headers considerably. It may be possible to have yours done.
