Corbeau Seats in a C3
Anyone put the Corbeau GTS II in a C3. Im wondering about the modifications needed. My order is on hold until I can get this figured out.
Thanks |
I have no clue. But I like the seats and would like to see what responses come across. Please don't mind me...I'll just sit over here in the corner.

I am putting Recaro Speeds in my 69, as we speak. Tight fit but they will go in. I expect to post on this with pix maybe next week.

Corbeau LG-1

I did Corbeau A4's if that is any help.

They look good. What about height for a tall person ( 6 foot).

Check out Speed Direct. They have the correct brackets and seats for a C3 install....Looking at this upgrade as well....http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_11...stom_brackets/

I haven't mounted mine yet- but fit w/o any issues.
I thought the headrest was too high- too tall- so I had my upholsterer cut them down- to look more like the 69 headrest- http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...2/DSCN2493.jpg Before- http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...DSCN0363-1.jpg |
I have some seats in my attic that were a failed attempt at replacing the seats in my 75... I'll be really interested to hear how this works for y'all

I installed the A-4 in my 68 with the brackets from corbeau. Excellent fit, I'm 5'8" and it's harder to get in and out leg bolster in the way. Definitely sit higher than the old original seats, like the recliner part, 6' tall hope your thin. Going to put tilt in when the money tree grows.

100% correct. Their brackets make a big difference.
*edit* I see on their website they still say people over 6' tall will have trouble. |
It's worth mentioning that you can order Corbeau's with the base shaved one inch.

Thanks I have a set of Corbeau GTS II from Speed Direct installed in my 77. The seats fit okay with the Speed Direct brackets, and the seats have been shaved an inch as requested through Speed Direct. The head rests are rather large and I might have them reduced in size by an upholstery shop as noted in a posting above. I am also planning to install glass t-tops on my 77 to provide additional head room as I am about 5' - 10" tall and the added headroom will be nice. Other than these items the seats are way better than the original 77 seats. Hope this info. helps. If you want some photos then let me know and I will try to get some taken very soon and add them to this post. :canadaflag::thumbs::cheers::flag: |

Do they sit lower than the Corbeau brackets?

Height is a good number, but without your inseams - it's impossible to judge who fits in what.... I'm tall but I have these stupid turtle legs, so while one 6'-1 person fits in a car, I don't....
help a brother out with a bit more info? |

help a brother out with a bit more info? I tell people I have 5'10 legs and a 6'5 torso. |
OK, so I got my seats and got to work. Pulled out the drivers seat first... and found forty bucks! :D
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7451/8...e86218a07d.jpg Then set the new seat in place with brackets... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7310/8...db3abc130f.jpg S#!t  Even if I took an inch out of the bottom, i'd still have to wear goggles. Also, the seat was turned to the left. It would have to come up even higher to sit straight. So, to answer any questions, the GTS II does not fit in a 1980 C3 (if your over 5'9"). I can't say for sure about any other year C3 not knowing if there is any difference in floor pans. |
