Carbon Fiber Splitter Question

If you happen to crack your carbon splitter and do not feel like spending the money to replace it ,can it be replaced with just a stock splitter that comes with a normal non carbon optioned car?

Well, you can replace it with whatever type of splitter that you want. A cheap OEM plastic splitter will fit, just as an aftermarket ZR1 type splitter, or an OEM ZR1 carbon fiber splitter will.

Here is an RPI carbon fiber splitter that is a fraction of the cost of an OEM ZR1 splitter.

I had my cracked carbon splitter repaired and painted for 340 bucks. RPI has several options if you decide to replace it.

Do you have to replace it with a splitter or can go just go back and make it look stock like it would with out the splitter....like a normal C6 with out the carbon fiber package?

Do you have a wide body or a regular body?

I am assuming that you have a wide body. In either case you can leave off the splitter if you choose to do that. For the wide body it just looks like something is missing if you don't at least put on the cheap OEM plastic splitter like the one shown in the first 2 photos.

It hard to see from the side, but the 3rd photo is my car without any splitter on it.

How bad was it cracked? Mine is cracked just did it two days ago. Looking to replace it or maybe get it fixed not sure which is better. I have a 2013 Z06 so the splitter is painted black.

Amaerican Carbon quoted me $250 plus shipping for a repair on a cracked zr1 splitter.

Dallasb84 04-30-2013 02:31 AM

I'd be interested in buying your cracked splitter when and if you are willing to sell it. I do composites for a living and want to put together a Kevlar zr1 kit for my zo6. Pm me if interested. Thanks and sorry to hear about your bad luck. Sorry for posting this in your thread if this is breaking forum rules
