77 battery box wire
I have a 77L82 and there is a yellow wire going into the battery box that looks like it's a fuse or something, it has a black plastic piece that is broken and the other half is black plastic with a tail that looks like it was grounded to something in the compartment. Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks Vince

Doesn't sound like something that belongs.
Is it attached to one of the battery cables and just hanging free? Hey, Bearbonnais. You're right down rt50 from me. |
I was just in my 1977 Battery box on my L48 this evening and it does not have what you have explained. I only have the 2 leads without a fusable link.
I have seen fusable links on other early model cars from the 70's coming off the battery with a yellow wire. These were after market battery cables when they had a yellow wire. So my only thought is these are after market cables and not factory. |

Hey where you at, north of me? This wire is coming from under the carpet and travels along the carpet below the door on the drivers side and it goes in a hole at the front of the battery compartment, it's not part of the battery cables.
