Just had my tailpiece panted flat black. Can't decide if I like it. Let me know what you think.

Not a fan of this look.

Not what you wanted to hear, But I am not feeling it seeing you did ask.

It's different & if you like it, that's all that matters. But... since you are asking for opinions... I'm not a fan either.

CQRT 05-03-2013 07:24 PM

I think the whole flat black/black wheels thing is a generational preference . . . probably looks good to you if you're under 30 . .

For me, not so much - -takes away from the cars beautiful lines.

Your car- your call.

RLYSLO 05-03-2013 07:24 PM

I'm not a fan of the look either, but it's all about what you want.

You could have used plastidip on the area first to see what it would look like, if you would like it or not. The plastidip could have been removed easily if you didn't like it.

dquagliaroli 05-03-2013 07:37 PM

Wouldn't do it

It's your's and that's all that matters! But leaves me just wondering WHY?

DSTURBD 05-03-2013 07:43 PM

I have been seriously and severely flamed on here for my opinions of black wheels previously. Let's just leave the whole matter at that. :D :D :D :D

at least it matches the theme of the car. i've seen some that did that with no other black accents at all...

road pilot 05-03-2013 08:05 PM

Looks ok to me.

Mastertvtech 05-03-2013 08:15 PM

I would prefer just the lower half blacked out, but it works with the wheels.

sircampsalot2 05-03-2013 08:51 PM

It Looks ok to me, Not my thing but it doesnt look bad. I would try and find some way to tie it all together maybe some flat black racing stripes or something. But it would look better without the BSM's with the look your going for

I think you are right about it being a generational thing, I actually really like how it turned out... I'm 26...

Jeff T. 05-03-2013 08:55 PM

Since you asked, I will politely say nope...

But as I've learned on this forum these cars get personalized in many different ways.

By you asking I guess you're not sure if you like it??

02z06dave 05-03-2013 08:58 PM

Not a fan. I think it would look better if it were gloss black and if the wheels were gloss black and didn't have the silver piece in the middle

andrec10 05-03-2013 09:06 PM

Not a fan, but its your car! Hope its Plastic-dip!

kybilt 05-03-2013 09:18 PM

No sir, don't like it.

I use to think the Generation Gap was cool...then one day I woke up on the other side...

VETJAZZ 05-03-2013 09:21 PM

:iagree: I don't care for it either.

c5vetteguy 05-03-2013 09:43 PM

Return the wheels back to their original silver.
Remove the black rear paint.
Paint the lower "valance" panel satin black.
Paint the halo satin black (optional).
Tint all lights (optional).
