Best LS7 sheetmetal intake

Looking to upgrade from a Fast 102 intake to a shorter runner sheetmetal intake to move the torque curve higher. We are seeing a drop in MAP at higher RPM. What is the best choice that will fit under a stock hood?

I have been looking also. Seems like Wilson or Precession Metalcraft are the choices. Most like the carb style with an elbow for power increase.

I'm interested also...

Been looking around and it seems like Marcella, Precision Metal Craft and OZMO have the best looking manifolds. I particularly like the look of the OZMO velocity stacks:

that plenum is hideous.... not even in the same league as Marcella

I like Precision Metal Craft intake manifold but what would be the gains over a ported Fast 102...? I'd just like the sheet metal intake for piece of mind when I run spray...

I don't know about hood clearance on a Corvette, but the factory COPO Camaro uses a cast aluminum short runner intake manifold from Holley, on their 427 with 13.5 CR and a hot cam..

•Base Plenum Top Mounting Flange Height – 8.42” to the lifter valley cover flange on engine block.
•Total Height with 92/102mm EFI Plenum Top – 12.32” to the lifter valley cover flange on engine block.
•Port Size – 2.49” Height x 1.21” Wide
•Mounting Flange Gasket Type – Standard LS3 Molded O-Ring
•Plenum Top Gasket Type – 3/32” Round O-ring Cord
•Throttle Body Flange Location, with 92/102mm EFI Plenum Top : Height – 8.42” (from engine block lifter valley cover flange), Longitudinal Location – 3.84” (forward from engine block front flange), Angle – 25 deg. (down from vertical)
•Runner Length – 6.29”, As-Cast Runner Cross-Sectional Area – Tapered 4.67inē to 2.84 inē

Why do you say that?? Apparently the OZMO manifold is a lower-profile version of the manifold on the fastest LSX drag car in the world.

It looks like something I could build, lol. Take a look at those welds in the link you posted ( OZMO AL Intake Manifold1 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!) . The black is just polishing compound they neglected to get off, but the weld itself is still crap. He either need to get some more practice or get really well acquainted with a grinder. A Marcella on the other hand looks like someone tipped over a roll of quarters. Also, Andreas isn't the fastest anymore... Tom Kempf went 6.71 @ 204 last weekend

try this... http://flic.kr/p/ejiE17

I think we will be going for this absolutely gorgeous manifold, and similar price to a custom sheetmetal + it will fit under a stock hood. Possibly try to run twin TBs, but I am not sure if we can get them to fit - maybe switch to the LS9 style TBs as they don't have a large motor hanging off the side.

Sheet metal intakes with short runners look great. However, all my research shows that low end torque will take a dump. The hi-ram Holley might be an option.

Pity its too tall for the Z

All the top manufactures are pretty comparable from what I've seen.

You ready for the massive hit down low?

Don't get a sheetmetal intake with less than a 7" runner.....ask me how I know ;)

Plan on a slightly taller hood!

It all depends on your engine - short runners are ideal for larger displacement, higher RPM and boosted engines. It sounds like your combo may not have been optimized with the cam and intake piping diameter & length up to the throttle body.

I made 660/570 at 6800.. My car is a turd under 5500 or so, but it has nothing to do with my Marcella intake!! I have a ton of overlap compared to 95% of the cammed Z's on this site.. If I had room to run more lift and not be so aggressive on the duration.. It would pick up power and tame this 2 stroke I got.. Cost wise if I had room under the hood.. I would've started off with a cast 4500 flanged intake from the get go.. No reason to run a short runner SM intake less its the only thing you can fit.. That OZMO or whatever it's called looks like a nice piece, but I'd definitely be trying to run dual TB's.. There's also a nice Carbon intake that's out with dual TB's and if it would've been out when I had my intake built, it would be under the hood of my car!!

I also forgot about Berry Motorsport's!! They do some pretty badass billet intakes!!

Just how lumpy is this cam? Do you still have 14:1 compression in a 440ci as well?

a 258 degree intake duration is puny for a SR 7L and my peak torque is 5900RPM......with a 4500 flanged intake my torque peaks at 6300RPM!
