Rear Deck Vent Removal Question
I was curious as to how I would go about removing the vents behind the rear window. I recently had the car painted and the guy didn't take them apart to clean/paint the insides so it kind of looks funny. Thanks in advanced!
Edit: My car is a 75' w/ A/C |
They are held in place with trim screws. Remove the grills and you will have access to the area beneath them.

Your 75 has a dummy vent opening. There is no opening in the body, just a grill sitting on top of the recess where the opening was on earlier models like Alan's.

Hi HBI,
Thanks I didn't know that! I got my 'eraser' out. Regards, Alan |

My 75 AC coupe has the vent grills, SOLID fiberglass beneath that. NO opening and CANNOT see thru deck.

Mine is a '75 w/AC. Four screws hold each vent in, accessed from the top. I can see the gas tank shield beneath the vents--no plenum in mine. The recesses the vents fit into should be blacked out.

FYI, an eraser is called a rubber in New Zealand! Just in case you should ever date a Kiwi girl!

Okay, what do they call a rubber in NZ? Lou.
