Anyone else use a "California Duster"?
I know it may be sacrilegious to most members, but I admit to using a wax impregnated duster on my orange beauty quite often. Here in upstate NY, my vette will be covered in pollen within 1 hour of being out of the garage. The duster is very convenient and quickly removes this pollen with out the fuss of normal washing. So far I have yet to witness any scratches and was wondering whether anyone else uses a duster, or am I the only "infidel"? :hide:

Yes, For many many years, and the one I use is from 1993 and I've never cleaned it and have used it on many vehicles. I shake it before and after evvery use and have done nothing else to it and I have never seen a mark that it has created. :yesnod:

i have a black car, use this thing every morning before i drive the car to work.
|
Have one, dont use it though
|
yes I use it and it works great!
|
use mine all the time down here.
|
I always use my CA Duster but I wait until my vert is cool.
|
Yep I have one and use it.
Does a good job once it is used a little. They can leave streaks when brand new. |
Yup, got one too....got it somewhere around 1993. Have used it on a lot of cars and now it gently gets stroked over my Daytona Sunset Orange vert.....no issues.

I use one for removing light dust.

I have one, and so far very disappointed. It leaves streaks and smudges that look pretty ugly in the right light on '12 Torch Red coupe. The best work it did was dusting off a 10' X 10' white vinyl tent that had accumulated dust at an art show. Really can't tell if there were streaks, but it didn't matter. Perhaps it's too new to perform correctly.

YES I have used one for the last 10 yrs. it is NOT a substitute to a wash just to remove light dust. follow directions by wrapping a new one in paper to bleed off wax for a day & try NOT to use it on a hot surface, that will leave streaks, I use it on my black ride every other day, Arizona dust is always present, very happy with results.*:yesnod:*

Bob I got mine so long ago, I can't remember when. It looks positively gross, but it doesn't scratch and it still works well. |
Use one all the time to clean pollen and dust off the cars. Never use it on a hot surface or wet surface. Follow the directions and it will be your friend for many years. :yesnod::yesnod:

Mine is not a "California" duster, but made by Turtle Wax. Use it quite often.

Bob I have had one for about 6 years. Used on LMB, VR, CRM and VY cars. It leaves streaks that you can see in the right light. Thought it was the wax I used, but, I have changed the wax several times. The VY was the only one not to show the ugly streaks. I am sure they were there, just couldn't see them with the bright yellow. Stopped using mine. I just wash the car more often. |
Bought mine in 2003. Still using it.
|
Yup! Been using mine for years. The older they get the better they seem to work. Can't live without one now, much dust in TX:D
