White Residue

Okay, I am sure this has been discussed here before, but I have managed to get some white car wax residue on my black trim. What is the best way to remove this residue?

I just did my whole 2012 GS Corvette ,with lemon clean pledge.I just got done and saw your post .I used it on absolutely everything .I have the carbon flash metallic with the vinyl ?flat black racing stripes .it got rid of the wax residue along the edges of the vinyl ,it made all the plastic look like brand new .did my black rims and barrels .I even used it on the plastic headlight lenses .the car looks amazing .I haven't had any luck posting pictures on a thread but will put it in my garage or you can PM me with your cell phone number and I will send you a picture .a CF member recommended and it works amazing.just made my freshly lemon clean pledge car my new avatar .

Peanut butter applied with a cotton swab, I know sounds strange but works.

Damn, it really does work! I have read about using peanut butter before, but this is the first time I actually tried it; PERFECT!!!

NOW IF I CAN JUST KEEP THE DOG AWAY FROM THE CAR....

Back to Black works like a charm on any color trim. Secret is to use it generously and wipe off any that gets on the paint while still wet.

I have used mister clean magic eraser. It seems to clean the plastic and rubber nicely, not to be used on painted surfaces. It permanently removed the white wax residue from plastic and rubber parts.

Used goo gone yesterday and it worked like a champ.

I hear peanut (cooking) oil works too.

Back to Black is good for the rubber parts, but not so hot for the hard plastic (like where the third brake light is). I just used some Zaino Polish on it. If you get Zaino where it's not supposed to be, like on the rubber or hard plastic, it doesn't leave the residue.

I'll have to try the peanut butter trick sometime ....

I use Meguiar's detailing spray applied with a microfiber cloth or Q-tip depending where the residue is...works great!

I find it much easier to use a product that won't discolor the black trim or buildup in the seems than to clean it up after.

Trutle Wax Ice liquid polish will take the residue right off and leave a nice finish....especially on areas like the black trim along the bottom of the windshield.
