Both chrome and black wheels are for people who know nothing better. Thanks to aftermarket there will be quality wheels with right materials and finishes available.

I would order Velocity Yellow with the standard silver Z51 wheels. I'd use them for track wheels and mount A6s on them. Then I'd buy a nice 3-piece wheel with a gloss black center with a polished center cap and polished lip.

Nah; was thinking of it...but Wife/Daughter overruled me,LOL
Also, getting the Body colored side mirrors and spoilers, was concerned about too much black; And lastly, changed Interior from Black to Kalahari; Once I saw some good pictures of that combination, really liked it;

Both Cars will look awesome

I wish there was a "meh" category. I do like black wheels with certain IF they have polished lips to make them stand out a bit. I used to own a silver C5 with that look and it got tons of compliments. I even think all-black wheels on some cars look good, particularly where there is a big contrast (like the bright reds and yellows) and lots of black trim/scoops/what have you. But, overall I think they are a periodically recurring fad which will not have the staying power of a well-designed polished wheel.

For me, polished and gray wheels look best. I am not a huge fan of chrome (full disclosure -- I bought my current Z with chrome already on the car and have been too cheap to refit with the proper wheels.)

I have a little homage to Ferrari going on with my C7 on order; black wheels, yellow calipers, torch red, Kalahari 2LT interior...

Black wheels all the way for me. Either way one chooses, though, I love what the designers have done with the options for this model year. You can truly customize the vehicle to look elegant or agressive, thus giving the driver the ability to change the "tone" of the vehicle.

At the end of the day, this new Corvette made me decide to pull the trigger, and become a new Corvette owner. Many of my friends who would never have before considered this storied franchise, are now mulling it over and are placing orders as we speak.

No matter what wheels one chooses, they all look great, a true halo car for the younger driver who wants to buy American, and a HUGE win for GM in the under 40 crowd, IMHO.

I did not used to like them but the more and more I've seen, there are a quite a few cars with black wheels that look great.

Case in point. Centennial ZR1. Ooooh!

She's a real beaut, Clark.

Car you share these pics. I have AW with red coming but would like to see the overall look of your combo. Thanks:thumbs:

And what wheels have you picked?

-CM- 07-29-2013 03:04 PM

I like these, so what does that mean?

I wish they'd offer the Z51 wheels in machine face.

Yeah, black rims on your ride means you want to appear like a "badass" ?

Posting an avatar with someone's grandmother standing next to your C6 is supposed to make you seem like what? A GILF lover?

There is a reason the word "Assumption" starts with 'Ass'.. because that's what you look like when assuming things.

DRLC5 07-29-2013 05:04 PM

I have ran Black and Machine finish wheels on one of my C6s and Black ZR1 wheels on my GS and currently run black wheels on my CTS V. Once you go black you never go back..

Compared to the old guys who need the bling to "impress" the young waitresses that they no longer have a shot with. :D

VETJAZZ 07-29-2013 05:57 PM

Black's not for me, but I don't hate them.

WLDvette13 07-29-2013 06:06 PM

48 years OLD today and I ordered black wheels on my arctic white Z51.

AORoads 07-29-2013 06:07 PM

not.

John_R 07-29-2013 06:14 PM

Not a fan of all black wheels. I like the black wheels with a polished lip or something like below.
