Headlight (low beam) Flicker
Over the last few weeks I've noticed that my low beams which flicker randomly. Both left and right will flicker at the same time. It seems to only occur while driving and not when sitting still, but not specifically when I drive over bumps or anything.
I have installed the 6k HIDs from CorvetteMods and didn't have any problems initially. I have not yet tried putting the OEM bulbs back in yet to test, but can probably do that this weekend if necessary. Although, I doubt it's bulb related since both the left and right flicker at the same time. Anyone have any thoughts on why this might be happening? I am afraid that they may just stop working one night while driving. I suppose I'll just have the dealership check it out next time I go in. Lance |
You may be putting too much load on an already failing headlight wire:

I took my car into the dealer yesterday and they were unable to reproduce the flickering and didn't find any wiring issues. I am afraid that my headlights are just going to stop working all of the sudden one night. What should I do?

My lights have been doing the same thing after I put the 6k HIDs from CorvetteMods in. It must have something to do with these bulbs. Maybe Neal at CorvetteMods will chime in and tell us what is going on.

CorvetteMods was kind enough to send me some replacement 6k HIDs, but the problem still persists. What should I do since the dealership has been less than helpful?

Dang....I bought some from corvette mod also and I had the flicker a few times and now the right one quit. Thinking mine was unusual I ordered a new set and planned on sending the bulb that doesnt work back to have them see if it is defective. I know that if it is the will make it right.
I wonder if anyone else is having a problem. Maybe they got a bad batch from their supplier. |
There was another thread on this the other day - my car does this very, very intermittently. So rarely that I quit worrying about it. Larger than normal expansion joints, maybe a railroad track or two will cause it in my car. The thread I saw said it was low beams only and a known problem in C6s.
