Center console scratched

My Center console has some swirl marks and minor scratches. I have tried using Mothers plastic polish, scratch remover and rubbing compound with only minor improvements. I think it's a harder finish on the console and won't polish like a clear coat. Anyone had any luck polishing their console?

:lurk: Been very careful with mine so far. But it's gonna happen.

Is it the stock console cover? Sounds like a good time to get one of the padded leather ones. I put one on my vette earlier this summer, and couldn't be happier. It looks nice, and is much more comfortable on my forearm and elbow.

Sorry, no not the console lid, the "carbon fibre look" center radio console surround.

If it is OEM carbon fiber finish it be buffed out using a dual action buffer on #4 or #5 speed using a white pad with a light polish and do not polish dry. A 3" pad works best but a 5" will work too. Just be careful and take it very slow as not to burn thorough the clear coat. Use a good quality micro-fiber towel and check your work often. Be sure to use blue painters tape to cover the parts you do not want to touch with the buffer. I have done this procedure on several cars with great results if the scratches are not too deep. If you have a painted console you will need to repaint.

:iagree::iagree: I have used the porter cable myself on it and it took every swirl and scratch out. It also made it shine like glass!
