Uptima Battries

Anyone ever use one of these ?

Never heard of an Uptima battery. I've used Optima batteries in the past, but since they sold to Johnson Controls the quality has tanked so I wouldn't buy one now.

I believe you mean "Optima". I've had an Optima Red Top in my '05 for the past two years & it's been problem free. The original Delco lasted for six years & I expect to get at least the same from the Optima.

I had to buy one in a pinch on a Sunday. It performed just like every other battery I've ever had..only difference??It cost twice as much.I'll stick with DIE HARD or one of those types in the future.

My factory Delco died in 22 months. I replaced it with an Optima RED top. When it was 5 1/2 years old I replaced it with another RED top only because I wanted to avoid a dead battery sometime in the future. It was still going strong. I will only use RED top batteries in my other car when I need a new battery.

I had to replace my Optima red top this spring in my C3. I put it in the C3 to get rid of the sulfur smell in 2001. It lasted twice as long as any battery I have ever had. I also put a red top in my wife's Tahoe three years ago. It still cranks strong.

Same here after 2 1/2 years. The reason I went with the Yellow Top is that if I got stuck in heavy traffic in 95+ degree weather, my cooling fans would occasionally drag down the battery voltage at idle to under 12 volts so I wanted a deep cycle battery. Was a deep cycle necessary? I don't know for sure but why take a chance.
